Dimitris Veltsistas was born in October 1960, in Agrinio, where he still lives. His inherent need for artistic expression was evident from a very young age. He is self-taught and his apprenticeship in art was sealed with the completion of his studies in interior design.

For more than 40 years, he has been professionally active in the field of construction, picture framing and art sales, undertaking commercial and residentialinterior design projects at the same time.

Perceiving creation as a result of life, he is enchanted by the concept of perpetual motion in space-time, which he interprets by designing and crafting constructions and installations. Miniature sculpture, painting, artwork, furniture, utility objects, metal, wood and earth are some of his fine companions.

Focused on efficiency, integrity, quality and usability, he has always been attracted by opposites and polarities, solidly transforming their heterogeneous elements into euphoria and artistic symmetry.

Inspirer and creator of the Gallery NEORION TECHNIS in Agrinio, he has been hosting exhibitions for twenty-two years –presentinghis personal creations and works of other artists –inhis constant effort to enrich his hometown´s cultural life.

In the summer of 2019, under the Aegean sun in Sifnos, he presented his installation entitled Accumulations – Anti-Reckoning, a work inextricably linked to the Votive Offerings, a forthcoming soul-searching collection.

Transcending the view of “creatio ex nihilo”, he insists on his personal vision of the value of nothing, as this is converted into creation through Art, revealing its quintessential value.
